Any book that relies primarily on the pictures to tell the story, rather than text, is considered a wordless picture book. Some books have a small amount of text either at the beginning or sporadically spread through the pages; the majority of the book is made up of pictures geared toward making the reader's brain work creatively to interpret it. Here are some of my favorite wordless picture books to get you started; listen to my 3rd podcast episode to learn all about why wordless picture books are an important component of literacy!
