Reading Tip #21: Acquire waterproof books to be read in the tub, at the pool, etc. (Some of my favorite ones are: shapes, animals, numbers) & can be found at the Dollar Store.
Reading Tip #20: Reserve or check out seasonal books throughout the year & look for holiday books ahead of time. (i.e. Halloween, Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas & Winter)
** Be sure to check out my 12 Days of Christmas (children's) book list for this year!*
Reading Tip #19: Create a cozy reading nook or a cool fort to read in. (This can be as simple as some pillows & blankets piled up in a corner.)
Reading Tip #18: Seek out books that help your kid relate to new, scary situations they'll encounter in their future. (i.e. My son & I checked out The Tooth Book by Dr. Seuss when my son was headed to the dentist for his first cleaning & check-up.)
Reading tip 17: FLAP books-- flap books are books that reveal the story behind a section of page & they are awesome because they create engagement (like Biscuit by: Alyssa Satin Capucili) but they can also include rhyming patterns or occasionally some sentence that changes the story line too.
