Place library books & DVD's on hold or request them online ahead of time.
So when you go to the library, especially with littles in tow, it's easier to check out & less of a hassle for you. Make text-world connections while reading with your young ones. For example, after my son & I read several fall & autumn books about pumpkin, including Pumpkin Soup, my son & I then made a pumpkin dump cake. Yum!)
Reading Tip #22: Seek or check out books that demonstrate commendable attributes displayed by the main character. (i.e. morals like: honesty, bravery, kindness)
One of our favorites is: The Little Blue Engine that Could, who had self-confidence & bravery. |
