It has already been summer-like here in Arizona for several weeks (due to the hot weather) but I believe official summer begins this month {June.} So, here is a list of some fun summer books you can look for and read with the kiddos as you enjoy all the fun things of summer: ice cream & snocones, swimming, watermelon, lemonade stands, parades & festivals, camp-outs & hiking, etc. What's your favorite summertime activity as an adult?
Happy summer everyone!

Summer Kids Books:
1. And Then Comes Summer
by: Tom Brenner & Jaime King
(A lyrical ode to summer, complete with references to swimming in the lake, ice-cream and fireworks, among many of the fun things to do in the summertime.)

https://www.amazon.com/Then-Comes-Summer-Tom-Brenner/dp/076366071X/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=And+then+comes+summer&qid=1591900678&sr=8-1
2. The Night Before Summer Vacation
by: Natasha Wing
(It's always a hassle to get everything packed to go on vacation; what gets overlooked or forgotten always causes more stress, as is the case in this classic tale of a family getting ready for vacation.)

https://www.amazon.com/Night-Before-Summer-Vacation/dp/044842830X/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=the+night+before+summer+vacation&qid=1591901454&sr=8-1
3. The Camping Trip
by: Jennifer K. Mann
(Ernestine is so excited to go camping because she's never been before! But that is exactly why tasks like setting up a tent or sleeping in a tent don't seem hard until she's actually doing them.)

https://www.amazon.com/Camping-Trip-Jennifer-K-Mann/dp/1536207365/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=the+camping+trip&qid=1591901631&sr=8-1
4. Froggy Learns to Swim
by: Jonathan London
(Froggy doesn't think he can swim without his scuba gear and flippers. His mom teaches him a simple formula for swimming: "Bubble, bubble, toot, toot, chicken-- airplane--soldier!" This catchy phrase will stick in your little pre-reader's mind, as Froggy realizes frogs are made to swim.)

5. Our Great Big Backyard
by: Laura Bush & Jenna Bush Hager
(This book, written by our former first lady & her daughter, is a tribute to national parks. The story follows a girl named Jane, who planned to spend the summer playing video games, but instead goes on a road trip to parks around the country with her family.)
